The Return of Madness Part 2.....you know the one where I return and do...stuff?

Why Hello there my fellows in Madness, it has been too long! I apologize for my absence for the past month I have been quite the busy man, but rest assured I am here to stay and some awesome things that i have managed to put into the place during my absence are just on the horizon and I have to say I’m excited.

Though I have to say that these past few month have been quite exciting as far as the tech realms go. I will add just for my own piece of mind and as a resident of the state of Connecticut that my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families in Newton and though I am sure that many of you are tired of hearing this by now I would not be at ease if I did not mention that they are not forgotten nor should they ever be.

With that in mind let’s get on a bit of a lighter note shall we? My family visited over the holidays and I have to say I am blessed with a group of relatives who are just as nerdy as I am. We come together and we share the discoveries we have all made within the ever growing nerdverse and boy did they have stuff to share!  Let’s have a bit of a breakdown of these discoveries!

Game Grumps

I really have to give it to my sister on this one; she found something that  has been making me laugh nonstop for the past few days.

Internet Personalities JonTron and Egoraptor have teamed up becoming the game grumps. For the most part they just play video game together and talk while they play, but I swear that is more than enough. Honestly just see for yourself.

I know right!?! Listen do yourself a favor and just go watch all their videos it’ll make you smile all day long.

Kenshi

Well this is one that I found and was happy to share. This is a Steam Greenlight game that is still pretty much in it’s alpha stages, but I have to tell you it’s awesome. To sum up the game you are a wandering swordsman in a vast wasteland and the world is completely open ended so pretty much all you have to do is make money and survive. Though the beginning is very frustrating because you can be knocked out pretty easily the game is totally worth it trust me. When you badass swordsman cuts down 5 men by himself you have the instant need to giggle. YOu can also hire members to your squad and build you own organization to combat the various bands of bandits that roam the wastes between towns.

like i said....When your guys cut down all those bandits you need a new pair of sunglasses to be the appropriate amount of badassery you feel that that moment.

I really can’t tell you much more than that because it’s still in alpha, but if you would like to check it out got to their website and if you like it throw $10 their way and you’ll get access to the alpha build and they’ll keep upgrading it minecraft style until they are done.

Les Miserables

As per tradition my family usually goes to movies during the holiday season, so it was this or watch the hobbit for what would have been the fifth time (I am not against that I actually have seen it 7 times now)  and to be honest I love musicals so this was an awesome choice.

How was it you might ask? Amazing! I would answer.

Well what was your favorite part? You my always clever reader  might follow with.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT QUESTION! I would shout at you and then proceed to scare you away by flailing my arms wildly in the air.

I will say this very few moovies make me tear up like this one did. Not just at the story ,but the music was so beautiful I can not begin to describe how it makes you feel.

Oh and one final question from you as you wearily poke your head into the door. “How was Hugh Jackman?”  HUGH JACKMAN DESERVES AN OSCAR! I would reply to your now shattered eardrums In all seriousness I’ve always been a fan of Hugh Jackman and I have to tell you this was one of the best movies he as ever done.

I’m going to stop now though before I listen to the soundtrack all over again…..@#$%….I’ll be right back.

Ok back…..yes it was good….can we just move on? Yes? Cool!

Finally on the movie Track we have one more thing that I’m so excited about I cannot even put it into proper words.

Back when I was at New York Comic Con I was privileged enough to see The Nerdist Podcast Live with Guillermo del Toro where he talked about his upcoming film “Pacific Rim”…i was intrigued to say the least and by intrigued i mean enthralled and by enthralled I mean Holy !@#$ing !@#$ I’m excited. While I was at The Hobbit I managed to catch the new trailer that has been playing and well, I’ll let you decide my feelings.

RIGHT! I mean giant robots fighting monsters who doesn’t want to see that?!?! I am literally jumping for joy over this one and you can trust I will be bringing you every bit of information I can get about this movie.

Well my dear friends it is an honor to be back and i hope you will stick around I have so much more to give. I do have to thank alot of you for the emails and such making sure I didn’t die or something and then the encouragement when I explained the situation. I could not be happier to have a greater group of fans. SO my hats off to all of you.

Until next time my fellows in madness

May the hair on your toes never fall out -Thorin Oakenshield

Black Friday A Gaming Holiday

Now i’m sure all of you were busy this Friday punching the old lady you don’t know for that copy of Homeland that was 50% off at Best Buy, but I hope your thanksgiving was good. Mine consisted me me catching a stomach flu which cause me to pull several muscles in my body while….how to put this lightly….”Hugging the the porcelain god.” After that image is so firmly panted in your head that you are pretty much saying “Well I might as well read this anyway to see if it’s worth it,” let’s get into the “Black Friday” business shall we?

Black Friday is an amazing holiday in the gaming world. Games and systems which are unreachable to those who have to spend money on stupid things like food and rent are within our grasp to purchase….if you go on a diet of Ramen noodles till your next paycheck. I for one chose that dietary option and got myself a PSVita I gotta tell you it’s awesome. Combine it with a copy of Assassin’s Creed: Liberation and Persona 4  the price tag came out to be about $178, whcih is about $100 less than it would of costed so I’m pretty happy with it.

I gotta tell you I finally got around to playing a Persona game and I’m only about a quarter the way through and I’ve gotta tell you if you haven’t played you’ve gotta play it. My sister has been telling me for years to play it and I’m sure she’s jumping for joy as I say it is one of the most innovative RPGs I have ever played. I know I’m really late to the game, but man this game is so good I can’t even describe what’s good about it.

When you have to describe something you need to look for the bad points to elevate the good things within the game. Well I gotta tell you the only thing that this game has wrong with it is the game starts out slow, but that is only because they have to set up the amazing story line that grips you from the get go. You find yourself as interested in what’s happening as the characters themselves. They tell you nothing, but what the main character himself knows and don’t explain anything.

A few quick answers. 1) Yes that is a stuffed bear, his name is Teddie and he talks 2) I know they will ,but they havn't explained what he is yet and it is delightfully infuriating. 3) He tells terrible puns....and I love it

Now that many sound like it confusing, but they somehow manage to make the story so gripping and interesting you find yourself enthralled by the mystery itself and begin to see yourself as more of a team member than the player while your trying to figure out the mystery.

As I have not yet finished this game I can;t give you much more of a read on it ,but I can tell you to buy it because I know it won’t disappoint. I’ll keep you updated on how it turns out. Until then avoid that Grandma you punched I hear she’s the Matron of  some Biker Gang!

The Big One

Good morning my fellow friends of madness! Today I have updates galore along with some interesting news tidbits, so let’s jump right in.

We have new shows coming on the horizon!

After long months of discussion and planning we are going ahead with multiple projects of both video and audio content. This all started from Last on the Scene, that was a trial to see if we could handle the camera shooting schedule and turns out it was so much fun we wanted to do more. Guys the ideas that are flowing are so great I cannot even begin to tell you.

This also means that we will be having a few more writers join me on this little blog and that more podcast episodes are on the horizon, so stay tuned for that.

Nintendo shoots themselves in the foot!….Again!

Ok so it’s no secret I hate the Wii-U, I mean if you don’t know by now and you’ve been reading this blog…I honestly don’t know what to tell you. Well today the system just released, selling out nation wide in a matter of hours. This of course means a lot of money for Nintendo making the console a success… I guess, but I never talk about things as far as sales because what’s important to me is how they design their products and i gotta tell you it’s not looking good.

I happen to know a friend that works in the higher reaches of Nintendo and he managed to snag me a system I could borrow for a couple days so I will be posting more updates as I go along ,but here’s what we have so far.

The games are out of all honesty terrible launch titles. Games that we thought would be promising are a huge let down, take ZombiU  for example. This game was what drew in many people from the beginning  it was a new fresh take for the Wii and it was what I would call “One of the few saving graces for the Wii-U”. Well with that statement in mind I’ll ask you the following questions.

Do you like Zombies? Do you like killing Zombies? Ok, well do you like boring repetitive game play in which you hit zombies with a cricket bat and look for stupid numbers on the wall? Did I mention you do that for almost 6 hours in the game? If your answer was Yes,Yes,Yes, and Well no…but that sounds awesome, then do I have a game for you!

On top of that remember that whole friend code thing the original Wii had? Well fear not that whole 12 digit code you both would have to enter to simply begin the “friending” process of the system is gone and replaced by The Nintendo ID. The Nintendo ID is a simple system ID number you have to enter in order to friend people, except you both have to enter it in order for a friend request to be even be made; so basically it the same thing ,but less digits and a little bit more hassle. Over all though, my god have they really just not understood how the internet works!

It seems to me like Nintendo has spent too much time trying to be innovative and less time making the system enjoyable for users. Now there are the Nintendo fan boys out there that will more than likely say the following. “Man you just hate Nintendo! The system is great! They are going to push out some amazing titles next year. They will blow Sony and Microsoft out of the water!”

And here is my answer to such statements. “No I hate what they’ve become, It’s not it’s a complete mess, More than likely, but with the Mario card already played they have about 6 good titles that can try and work with, and No, just no the currennt Wii-U is a glorified Xbox 360 when you look at it graphically and Microsoft is making a new one next year and Sony was already better as far as overall computing power and they both dominated Nintendo as far as hit titles this year, so you tell me how much hope do you really have?”

So with all of that in mind I bid you a found farewell! If I’ve brought down your spirits today maybe this video will cheer you up!

Brough to you by Hard & Phirm!

Dreams of an MMO

Hello my friends and welcome back to another edition oF I”I say what I want and then you just read it”… sounds like a good title to me. I’ve spent the last couple day in an exhausted daze. WIth filming of our new tech show for the website and our many other avenues that we are pursuing that I think will really bring this website to life (Release date is TBD), I’ve found myself with so very little time to care about the most recent news. It’s not that there’s nothing good.. well there isn’t because I hate both Black Ops and Halo 4, but that’s beyond the point.

I did manage to gleam one awesome video that inspired my imagination.

Yep that’s right! The Elder Scrolls MMO!

I cannot tell you how this concept invigorates me. The games of the elder scrolls series have always been a personal favorite of mine, the level of storytelling and thier beautiful gameplay and artwork grips me in a way that fully immerses me into the game. Now your telling me that there is going to be an MMO based on that world? I’m already beyond in.

What really seems to grab me is the way they want to stand out from other MMO’s. Honestly I stop playing them about five months after I start. This isn’t because the game is bad or there was something I didn’t like, I usually stop because I can’t take the people who are obsessed with what I call “Stat gameplay” let me define that for you.

Stat Gameplay: Where a player within any game concerns themselves more with statistical values of items or units in the pursuit of victory rather than simply playing the game was it was intended ,thus turning it into a giant game of number muncher.

I cannot stand when people do this. Out of all honesty it ruins the experience of the game and makes you feel like your in a computer program. Who cares if that staff gives you 1 more point towards this or that? Who cares if doing something that way ensures that we can win? The only question I ever ask is “Is it fun?”. When I look at Elder Scrolls I see a world that has a limitess amount of fun and will allow me to be whatever I want to be.

I usually play the warrior in those games , charging in with a sword and shield because out of all honesty I get a thrill out of the charge and the power it holds.

Yeah sure let's use that one

This game holds alot of promise, though I’m unsure about the whole siege / war for control thing they want to do not because it’s stupid, but because it has been tried so many times and with varying degrees of success. The interface that they have so far as I can tell seems to be done well, though I can’t really tell you that much from a nine minute pre alpha video. Bethesda is known for keeping thier projects close to thier chest so I doubt we’ll hear of anything breaking until they decide they want to, so be sure to stayed tuned for more news on that end.

Well that’s my little news bit for Monday I will have more for you on Wednesday so be sure ot tune in for that! Until then my friends have a great week and be sure to let me know if there is anything I should be looking at!

The Madness of Star Wars

I have returned! From the very depths of Tartarus itself I have broken my bonds and have come back to you know, at the turn of the tide. It is only fitting that we discuss a big story in my highly celebrated return (Well I mean I am celebrating it).

On October 30th Disney announced it’s 4 billion dollar  purchase of Lucas Film along with all of it’s franchise property.

Now Lucas Film was privately owned 100% by founder George Lucas so my hat is off to him for the recent (though unneeded)  increase in wealth as well as becoming one of the largest shareholders in Disney stock with 40 million shares.

You are correct in fact she is now a Disney Princess.....and she's not as nice as all the other ones

Now this news has been met with some hesitance from fans of the Star Wars universe, many claiming that with Lucas leaving that the franchise my be dead forever. On a personal note I find this hilarious because these are the same people that said Lucas was the one killing the franchise when he released the most recent editions to the Star Wars movie series, but that’s beyond the point. These extreme statements from fans have only increased when Disney CEO Robert Iger said the following “Our long term plan is to release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years.” Many people who were more than likely burned by the hopes that episode one was supposed to be a good thing are up in arms like they might actually bring Jar-Jar back for all three and let’s face it nobody is that stupid, so let’s be realistic here.

I really don’t understand what all the fuss is about. When you look at what Disney has done to Marvel as far as movies go (Yep that’s right they own them too) they’ve completely brought them back to life. They were the ones who greenlit the Avengers project arguably one of the best movies this year, as well as many other franchises in the Marvel Universe and Marvel has never been more profitable. Have we forgotten that Disney also owns Pixar? Pixar, the most famous animation studio in the history of animated movies who’s batting record is almost 100% (Cars 2 is a foul ball…though I liked it).

Sure we can point out the studio’s mistakes like John Carter and Xmen 3,but if you look at the average they’re doing a pretty good job.

If you need more recent proof take a look at Disney’s newest release Wreck it Ralph. I saw this movie on the day of release and I’ve gotta tell you it’s amazing. If you’re looking for confidence in Disney as a whole go out and see this movie it will more than do the trick for you. I will keep details to a minimum because I have a review planned for later this week, but needless to say forget waiting for my review just go out and see it.

As for the matter at hand I think people are way too worried about this. Disney want to do justice to the francise and create more content whether that be movies, television, or even video games Disney wants to breath life back into and francise that out of all honesty is too famous not to have created as little as it has over the past few years.

Need I say more?

I don’t think George Lucas could of said it better when he was quoted about this purchase “For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next,” said Lucas “It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers.”

Listen I’m not saying you have to be ok with this, though I think you should be when you do the math. What I am saying is that this has already happened and we can protest and do our best to sabotage this thing and ruin a franchise that someone is trying to save regardless of their purposes, or we can show our support as fans and give someone else a chance to bring back the magic that Star Wars brought to us all at one point in our lives.

The Star of the Underground

When I talk about Kickstarter projects there is usually a lot of worry on my part. Telling people to spend money on a project that may or may not be successful is very stressful when there is the possibility that this game could be horrible. This also requires me to do a lot more work in researching this project and the developers involved with the project to establish the credibility of the project.

Luckily for me I’ve have been on the mark as far as picking good projects so far. I just received the prototype for Castle Story and it is awesome. You can’t really complain that it is buggy or broken because it is an alpha version of the game and more of a proof of concept program. I gotta tell you though it is far from complete I’m already happy with the result. The game just feels fun and I cannot put it down

For those of you who do not know what Castle Story is check this out

Though it is not possible to get the prototype right now I will be bringing you frequent updates about the game as well as further kickstarter projects that I think will be well worth your time.

In fact let me show you two I’ve been watching for the past few days.

Timber and Stone

Similar to the idea of Castle story ,but closer to the Minecraft realm of gaming. The idea is to create a city building game in a medieval/fantasy setting at the same time you must build an army to defend that city from goblin hordes, barbarians or even the undead armies of your local necromancer.

Or you know...Giant spiders.....of course

Now there are some unknowns here. This is project is being created by one man not a development teams, so there is alot resting on his shoulders. It is the same risk I held against castle story, but they had three people on their team and more working for them so I don’t suggest throwing your money at this one to be on the safe side. That being said for $15 you get a copy of the game and I consider that to be a low risk scenario so if you have that hanging around I would totally recommend this.

Strike Suit Zero

Who doesn’t like a good mech game? I mean as long as it involves blowing up everything within the view of your cockpit then it’s worthy of at least one play-through. I was originally going to try to describe what the game was,but what they say on their Kickstarter page sums the game up way better in my mind.

“Strike Suit Zero is a PC game that offers fast and frantic space-combat, putting you in the middle of massive fleet battles where the fate of Earth relies on your dogfighting skills. You’ll take to the cockpit of a powerful transforming craft known as the Strike Suit, where – at the tap of a button – your craft will transform from a traditional fighter, to a hulking suit of space armour.”

Ok beyond how cool that sounds the game also look gorgeous, take a look at this.

This picture alone makes me want this game.

Now to be fair I’ve been a space combat fan since I saw Star Wars when I was young. Since then I’ve loved anything that involved space combat and have studied it with almost a creepy obsession  so I may be bias when I say you should donate to this game. I will back up this statement though with the people that involved with this project. If you look at their Kickstarter page you’ll see a name that will jump out at you.

Junji Okubo, who was involved with games such as Steel BattalionInfinite SpaceAppleseed: Ex Machina and Viper’s Creed.

This is also futher cemented by the development team Born Ready Games that is behind this project. So you know that it isn’t just s few guys working out of their basement…or at least they are pretending not to be.

My advise? Go and donate $20 for an awesome game and enjoy some space combat.

By the way I never tell you to donate to games that I haven’t already donated to myself just in case you were thinking I’m going to lead you astray.

The King of Madness Rises!

Why hello there my friends! It has been too long since my mad musing caught your eye and I apologize for that. Today I hope to remind you why you all read my posts, so why don’t we get down to it.

So where have I been these past few days? Well New York Comic Con of course!

Woooo! In a huge crowd of people....and that one big hairy dude dressed as wonder woman.....no I don't have pictures you pervert..

Yep that’s right I spent my weekend walking around the convention seeing things that are both awesome and horrifying. I met my heroes and I saw things I’d rather not ever see again.

The best and worst part about conventions is the cosplay (people dressing like characters for comics, television, movies, or anything else you can think of of) some of them are so clever and amazing that you have to stop and stare with your mouth wide open.

Take scorpion here as an example.

I mean look at that he even has white contacts!

Or representing the women take the wonderful costume of The Wasp

Just So you know yes she is real I met her on the convention floor. MTV just happened to take a better picture of her than I did.

Then there is the other side of cosplay the deep dark reaches where it makes you uncomfortable or makes you simply ask why.

Men let’s face it you gotta know what you look like and I get that it’s ok to be proud if you’ve got a few extra pounds, but that does not mean I have to suffer as some guy wearing this passes me by.

Words cannot describe the horror.........

That guys is real! I saw him at the convention and took his picture to prove this point. Look at the guy to the right of wonder woman’s right shoulder, his face is how we all feel inside looking  at this picture. Guys I get that this kind of thing can be funny, but there is a line and this is so far over it I’ve lost you in the distance. Though I admit I find myself wondering whether that is a wig not or and if not how did he get his hair like that?

Moving on I got to play the new Monster Hunter  while I was doing some booth work.

Setting aside the fact that that picture is terrifying the game itself was awesome. Keeping with the traditional format of the original Monster Hunter games they have managed to make even more enjoyable and intense. It is defintly something that I need to keep track of in the coming months

This is just the beginning of my Comic Con adventures. I am planning to talk about them all week long so I’m just giving you a little taste of it now.

Before I go however; I’d like to touch on something that made my convention from day 1. You all remember when I talked about Rob Paulsen right? Well I had the chance to meet him at New York Comic Con and I gotta tell you….he was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. He met me with a smile and hand shake and spoke to me like I was someone he was interested in. Listen as an aspiring voice actor, writer, and podcaster Rob Paulsen is one of my heroes! To have him say “Hey can I be on your podcast someday?” Even if he meant it or not it made me walk around the convention with a smile and it will keep going for at least a few more weeks. So from the bottom of my heart Rob you are amazing and thank you so much.

In the spirit of helping someone who has helped me out immensely in my life be sure to listen to his podcast “Talkin Toons” because it is one of the best podcasts out there. On top of that check out his website http://robpaulsenlive.com/ for more info about anything he is doing.

Roll for Writing

There is one term in the world that is common place among most nerds. A word that seems to hold power and many implications Dungeon and Dragons. As this is a slow news day I’m in the mood to shed some light on what exactly this game means. I have been playing D&D for a very long time and I have to say there is not a single game in the world that compares to that of a simple dice roll to see if you hit that Ice Giant with your “+2 Ax of Righteous Power.” Does that sound silly? To those who don’t play it sure does, but to those who have played know that fighting Ice Giants is no laughing matter.

D&D is not as simple as setting up a board and playing like most games. Days of preparation for the Dungeon Master (most of the time that is me) developing encounters and challenges that your would be heroes (or villains) must overcome as well as giving them a reason to overcome it,but what you want the players to do and what they actually will do is almost next the same. For example, currently I am writing the story for a game we are going to play this Friday. My band of heroes needs to search for an item  in a city that has put a bounty on their heads, which makes it a lot harder to go out and search for the item they need to progress through the game. My intention was that they would play stealthily and though it would take time they would eventually find it. They players however, had a much different plan that I had intended. They decided to bring the two leading criminal organizations in the city to a state of open warfare and use that as a cover for their search. Brilliant plan? Yes,but it threw all of my previously laid plans out of the window and to me that is such a thrill.

D&D is a game of creativity plain and simple; those who are extravagant and take risks are often rewarded or at least punished in the most hilarious way and those who are too careful and safe often find themselves worse off than they began. Most see people rolling dice playing pretend. I see a story of epic proportions that movie makers could only dream of. I see people sharing a story as if it was told around a campfire, only with far more terror and laughter. People just never seem to understand this game and I believe that’s because they couldn’t play it themselves.

So to give you a taste of this game here is what I’m going to do. I’m going to write you a story every week (Or two depending on when we play the game) chronicling this story. Everything I write will be decisions that were made in game and dialogue that was all played out in character. The first one will be over the weekend so I want you to stay tuned, but for the time being if you want more proof that D&D can be amazingly fun watch this.

New Ideas and The Acceptance of Them.

Hello my dear friends. I apologize for missing my last two posts I promise you I have an excuse and judging by your emails it better be a good one. Well as it turns out we are starting our own YouTube channel as of last night. Though we have no content at the moment we are in the middle of filming projects so we can build more content for you. So stay tuned on that and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

My brain has been buzzing through the last few weeks. After some very kind emails about my last few posts as well as some great advice I have been deep in thought ever since. Many of you have encouraged me write more stories and that you enjoy my opinions (though I can’t imagine why) so I figured that giving you a little bit of a happier take on things would be a good idea.

This weekend i have the privilege of playing on the main stage at the Webster Theater for Taproot and Nonpoint; I cannot begin to explain how excited I was. When you work hard for so long at something and you finally feel like it adds up to something, even if it small in the grand scheme of things. With the success of that I’ve been thinking how I can bring this website up in a similar fashion.

I have to tell you i feel lucky that anyone reads this at all and your emails warm my heart even though sometimes they can be a bit…abrasive at times I know your heart is in the right place and you always seem to want more. So I’d love to bring that to you all. So here’s some of the ideas I’ve cooked up.

Short stories

These would be less frequent posts, perhaps once or twice a month to start with. Many of you have requested them after I put up my first story. The problem with that is I never know what stories i want to tell, so maybe I can think about that and turn it into some sort of episodic series that I do. I do write a lot and it seems a shame that all my stories go  disappear into one of my many folders, so we can see about that one.

Video content

As I stated in the beginning I’m already working on this with people that I love and adore. I’m serious I did the first shoot this past Friday and though it was stressful I had so much fun. The thing is right now we are only working on one show and we are burning to create more content for the channel. Since you are all so found of sending me emails (and for the last time I don’t care how much money you save I don’t need to go on a cruise) send me ideas! Tell me what you think, what you want to see, and above all what you think would be cool! I want you to enjoy this as much as I enjoy doing this every morning.

The Podcast

Ok now this is where a lot of the angry emails begin. I know that Zack and I haven’t been regular in our recording (and with your constant emails how can I forget). Truth be told Zack has a real life and sometimes it’s harder for us to get to record, but I am working on getting multiple people in on the podcast so don’t fret you’ll soon get your dose of madness my friends.

More writers

I do how alot of people lined up to possibly write for the website. Now do not worry I will still post one the regular times, but it wouldn’t hurt to get some fresh blood in here would it? If you my fellow read might be interested in posting on this very page why not send me an email and we can talk.

There are many other ideas that seem to be circling my head, but those are the best formed ones that I have for now.

There is something else I do want to talk about though. Lately I have noticed there seems to be an overwhelming sense of that your opinion is the only right one. I bring this up because of recent interactions with people that I’ve met in the real world and through the wonderful little emails I have received.

Listen everything I say is my opinion unless stated as a fact or quote about a game or service I am currently talking about. Do I think my opinion is correct? Sometimes, but most of the time I’m just waiting to be proven wrong. Why you ask? Well in the act of being proven wrong I am learning something new and therefore expanding my knowledge so that the next time I have an opinion about something in a similar field I can create a more informed hypothesis.

I am astonished how many people from students and teachers to The young and old truly believe that their experience in the right one. The truth is nobody has the right one, you only have your own. It seems that this world is full of people who love talking about how to correctly do things, but rarely take actions to do it that way realizing that it was never that simple. After realizing that of course, they then proceed to put down your ideas so you fail along with them.

The message of this little piece? Four words. Shut up and Listen.

Plain and simple shut your mouth and think about what you are about to say before you open it. I find it amazing and also slightly amusing how few people consider what they say before they barge into what was a discussion turning it into an argument against a person you can’t with against for no other reason than the fact that they refuse to believe anything other than their own words. They claim knowledge and facts, but let me tell you facts are only the base of opinions and how progress is created. We learn from our past, but it should not be a percentage game.

So a word of caution. If you want something from me just ask and I will listen, but don’t be surprised if you don’t like what I have to say. I do not intimidate easily, nor do I suffer fools who refuse to even consider other ideas. Am I always right? Absolutely not! Half the time I’m wrong and the rest I’m just guessing or joking. Then or course if you are one of those people you will have already shrugged this off as the rhetoric of some young person who isn’t worth your time and you know what? I pity you.

The young must learn from the old about the past in order to move forward and the old must learn from the young about the future in order to survive. The young are always born in blissful ignorance and the old in stubborn stone.
